Conkers, conkers and more conkers!

This week in nursery we went on a conker hunt! We walked to our local park with some big bags, we collected hundreds! We walked to the park holding onto our magic rope, we stopped at the roads and remembered our safety looking left and right, listening and looking again before crossing. We were so excited when we got to the conker tree we let go of the rope and explored them, some of us found sticks and leaves too and had fin comparing all of the different things. We also looked at the hard spikey things that were on the floor and discovered these were conker shells! We carried our big bags full of conkers back to nursery and explored them further, we painted them, we rolled them, we counted them and we sorted them.

We also explored melons, we looked at the shape and colour and had a guess at what we thought was inside of them! Some of us thought lemon juice was inside! We hammered golf tees into them this was great fun showing off our strong hand muscles and then we noticed water was coming out! We were right there was juice inside! We made a mind map of everything we had discovered.

We also spoke a lot about play dough on Friday and how we wanted to create things with it. We then had a hunt in our kitchen and researched for a recipe online we found everything we needed and located the equipment we needed. We created our own play dough! We were especially good at the kneading part! I can't wait to learn loads more with you next week!
